In short

What do we count?

When a page opens, your browser sends a small signal to our own server with only the event name and the page path. The country is derived from the IP address with a local country database (DB-IP) on our server; the IP address is then discarded immediately and not stored. To limit abuse, the server briefly forms an anonymous group number (one of 4,096) with a key that changes daily; it is deleted within two minutes.

Legal basis and retention

Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in improving the service). Nothing is stored on or read from your device for the counting signal (section 25 TDDDG). Totals are kept for at most 25 months and then deleted automatically.

Server logs

Like any web server, our hosting provider logs technical data (IP address, time, page requested) for security and operation. They are not used for counting.

Contact form and email

With the contact form you can report an error, make a suggestion or ask a question. We then store your message, the type of message, the page you mention, the website (lohnkost.de) and the time, and your email address if you give it. The email address is optional; only give it if you want a reply. A copy is sent by email to our address (info@loonkosten.nl); replies come from that address. To prevent abuse, the server briefly keeps an anonymised fingerprint of the IP address (not the address itself; deleted after 30 days at most). We only use messages, including emails, to reply and to improve the website, and delete them after 12 months at most. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Fonts and resources

All resources (fonts, scripts, stylesheets) are served from our own server; no data is passed to third parties during your visit.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR) and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
